Have a claims question?

Look no further

Q: My dog bit my neighbour on the arm but it doesn’t look serious. Should I contact my broker?

Definitely. Even if it’s not serious, it’s better to give us a heads up about the situation, in case your neighbour eventually decides to report it.

Q: My car was broken into and items stolen. Do I claim that on my home or auto insurance?

It depends. Were the items a part of your vehicle, like the stereo or hubcaps? If so, they’ll be covered under your auto policy.

But if the items were belongings like a laptop or luggage, they’ll be covered under your home policy. If the break-in itself damaged the car (if the thief smashed the window to gain access, for example), then that’s covered by your auto policy.

Q: What if my basement is flooding—what do I do?

Try your best to stay calm, because it can be a pretty stressful event. Then you should do the following:

  1. Turn off any electricity, if it’s safe to do so.
  2. Shut off the water source.
  3. Locate the leakage.
  4. Determine if any household items can be removed or salvaged to prevent further damage.
  5. Call the aha claims team at 1 (855) 242‑2440 so they can start the emergency claims process. We’ll also work with you on preferred providers to start the clean up and examination immediately.

Q: How long does it take to start a claim?

Not long at all! Call our brokers at 1 (855) 242‑2440 and they’ll start the process as soon as possible. However, if you need immediate processing, you can call our emergency claims team at 1 (888) 709 3960.
