Should you buy a car in Toronto? You can go back and forth on this decision in a city with so much transit. The freedom of your own vehicle is appealing, but is it practical for city life?
If you like to go on weekend trips, visit family and friends back home, or travel a lot for work, investing in a vehicle is probably the smart choice for you.
Luckily, Toronto has some great auto dealerships with long-standing reputations for their service, trade-in value, and financing options.
We’ve gone through google ratings, testimonials, social media feedback, and recent industry awards to create our list of the top 10 best places to buy a car in Toronto.
Let’s dive in!

If you go with a used car, always request a vehicle history report when you’re buying used, no matter where it’s from.
Leasing or buying a car really depends on whether or not you want to build equity in the vehicle or if you’re just looking to trade up every 4 years or so.
Loan payments are typically higher than lease payments, but you will have a car you could potentially resell or trade-in in the end. You also won’t need to worry about footing the repair bills for wear and tear, in most cases (usually just oil and some basics). Keep in mind you may also have the opportunity to buy your car at the end of the lease contract.
Happy hunting out there!
